|Hello Tiger Regiment,
Start of Band Camp
This is last the weekend of sanity before band camp starts next week. Our coaches have already been working of course; designing, planning and scheming. The season will commence this Monday and the basic daily schedule is 1pm start, 4pm dinner break, and 9pm end of rehearsal. The end of reahearsal is 9pm but that is not when the work ends nor is it the earliest you can show up. May I suggest that you can show up a little earlier to watch the last part of rehearsal in stands and see the progress and show support. The kids will be ready go by about 930pm.
As I mentioned last week, the attire for the kids is white T-shirts during the day and black shirts during the evening. The boosters have white shirts available in the band room for $10 each. Please bring cash or check; exact change for cash is preferred.
And speaking of change, look out, it’s Penny War time! If you don’t know what that is ,then ask your child. I still am not totally sure, but its happening and I believe the winning section is playing for the glory of a Rosa’s Big Mama Pizza Party. Yum!
Uniform fittings are underway. Please check with your student to verify that they have already been fitted or have signed up in the band room to be fitted. This needs to happen soon so our uniform volunteers have time to complete everyone. The uniform fitting is a huge effort by a small group of hard-working people so please support them by scheduling the fitting soon.
Part of the uniform is the shoe. Incoming kids will need to order new shoes even if they have them from Jr High as these are different shoes from the ones used at Kraemer. Returning performers need to make sure that their shoes from last year are still in good repair. If you are new this year or returning from last year with shoes that need to be replaced, see the attached order form. Please print that out, fill it out, and bring to the band room with attached payment. Good shoes help us look sharp and feel great on the field!
And finally, lets talk about money. It’s truly amazing what the Tiger Regiment does on a yearly basis by getting the most out of your money. The dollars are watched very closely and the Booster Board is super focused on how much is needed and also when it is needed so we can meet out obligations when they are due. We ask that you support the effort by making sure Your Share is paid as follows: $200 should have been paid in June, $150 at the beginning of Band Camp, and then the final $150 at the Parent Preview in October. If you will do that then we will have good ability to support our coaches and staff and pay for props, music, show design, entrance fees, uniforms, instrument repair. Your Share is just one part of the puzzle and we thank you for being on time or early or even generous above and beyond if you are able. If you are not able to meet the payment schedule, then please communicate with the VIP Booster Treasurer or Mr. King what your plan is. By doing that, you will help us greatly. Thank you so much.
As always, more can be said so stay tuned for the next message.
For the Booster Board,
VIP President 2017/2018
